The chemical erode on stone could be divided into two kinds： chemical erode cause by people and cause by natural.

chemical erode cause by people consists following reasons.

1. the industrial waste gas cause the increase content of Nitrogen oxides , Hydrocarbons, Sulfur oxides, Carbon oxides , Acidic granular materials in the air, when these material Dissolves in rain, they will form the acid liquid, and cause the erode on stone.

2. the industrial waste residue and waste liquid which contain acid or alkali cause the erode on the stone.
3. during installation, not proper using of chemical will cause the erode on the stone.
4. when clean the stone or process the stone defect, not proper use of chemical will cause the erode on the stone.

Chemical erode caused by natural insist the following factors
1. the acid rain occur when N2、O2、H2O give the electricity, it cause erode on stone.
2. under some certain conditions, together with NH3, O2,  nitric acid bacterium will compose the HNO3 acid liquid which will cause the erode on the stone.  

The prevention and control for chemical erode on stone

The prevention for chemical erode on stone strictly control the high discharge for industrial “3 waste” , manage some process to reduce the occurrence of acid rain. During installation, must use the good quality stone maintenance material for stone. When clean the stone or process the stone defect, must do it right, necessary it is better to ask the specialist to guide how to do the job.

The process of chemical erode on stone, mainly it depend on the stone surface certain situation: for polish surface, usually clean, retread it, for unpolish stone, according stone surface, clean, flame, sandblast or chisel etc. after processing, must use protection material to maintain.
