Stone External causes

There are many Stone External causes which affect the stone decoration and life span, for example, improper maintenance during stone exploit and transportation. The effect of adhesive material used for stone installation, and natural environmental factors.
Affection during stone exploit and transportation: stone’s crack maybe related to improper stone exploit method; the iron tool to process the stone may cause the hidden trouble for stone rust spot, improper stone cooling liquid will pollute the stone, improper maintenance during the stock or transportation, will cause pollute such as rust spot or Grass rope yellow etc.

The affection of the adhesive used for stone: when install the stone, if adopt the cement wet sticking, then the alkali in cement will seep to the surface because of rain, and its Alkaline compounds Ca（Oh）2 will react with CO2 or H2O in the air, cause the CaCo3 crystal on the stone surface, cause the phenomena of Salting out pan-alkali. In addition, some kind of salts produced after cement’s hydration, and these salts could absorb water, After permeating the stone material, absorbs in the air the moisture content, forms the water stain in the stone material surface, it seriously influence appearance. Moreover, uses the improper adhesive material, also will cause yellow change on the stone material.

Environmental factor influence: Environmental factor including environmental pollution, acid rain corrosion and freezing destruction and so on. In the natural environment the air pollution, the acid rain and other artificial pollutant can create to the stone material the pollution and the corrosion. Moreover, the freezing destroys is also a noticeable environmental factor, because the stone material has the hygroscopicity, (even if is uses hangs construction dry stone material), in the cold winter, because of freezes accelerates its weathering process, causes its intensity to reduce, not only influence service life, will also threaten the personal safety.

To stone material which already presented pathological change, must use means to clean, attrition and coloration to process, makes it to restore the original appearance, then makes protection processing again, like this can treat the symptoms and the causes. Otherwise it will aggravate the stone material pathological change, even cause big area weathering, flaking etc until it is unable to use.
